Io Dico Io at Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Rome
Opening today at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome is Io dico Io – I say I , an exhibition that takes its cue from the writings of the late Italian feminist activist Carla Lonzi. Io dico Io – I say I arises from the necessity of asserting one’s subjectivity through achieving a single multitude but with the multiplicity that echoes even in agreements and discords.
It gathers Italian female artists of different generations, who, in various historical and social contexts, have expressed their unique approach in taking charge of the world through a multitude of visions. The selection includes celebrated artists Marinella Senatore and Rä di Martino.
