GIOVANNI OZZOLA
Giovanni Ozzola (b. 1982, Italy) is a multidisciplinary artist working predominantly in photography, video and sculptural installation. Ozzola’s practice demonstrates a deep sensitivity towards the phenomenon of light and its various physical characteristics. His main thematic interests lie in conceptualizing and representing infinitude and exploration, both geographical and introspective.
After spending some years in London, Ozzola returned to Italy in 2001. In 2003, just 21 years old, he exhibited in the inaugural exhibition of the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, ‘Happiness: A Survival Guide for Art and Life,’ curated by David Elliott and Pier Luigi Tazzi.
He participated in multiple residencies, such as Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, France; Institute Bernard Magrez, Bordeaux, France; and Nirox Sculpture Park, Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2015. He currently lives and works in the Canary Islands.
